Kärrtorp is an above-ground station on the Stockholm Metro . It is located in the Kärrtorp district of the same name . The station is served by the Gröna linjen of the Stockholm subway system . The station is one of the less frequented stations on the underground network. On a normal working day, 4,000 commuters get on here.

The station was put into operation on April 17, 1958, when the section of the Gröne linjen between Skärmarbrink – Hammarbyhöjden was inaugurated. The station is located between the Bagarmossen and Björkhagen stations . It is about six kilometers to Stockholm Central Station .
