Käthi Bangerter

Käthi Bangerter (born July 13, 1937 in Aarberg ) is a Swiss politician , entrepreneur and financial expert. From 1995 to 2003 she was National Councilor of the FDP of the Canton of Bern .

biography

Bangerter, née Schober, started her professional career as a primary school teacher . In 1969 she founded Bangerter Microtechnik AG together with her husband Hein in Aarberg. She has three sons who took over the company.

politics

Bangerter was in 1988 for the community Aarberg in the council selected. This was followed in 1990 by the election to the Grand Council . She held this office until 1995. In 1995 Bangerter was elected to the National Council with 28,300 votes. She was a member of the Finance Commission and the Science, Education and Culture Commission.

In 1997 she was elected to the Bank Council of the Swiss National Bank (SNB) .
