Hiking trail near Dießen

The König-Ludwig-Weg is a long-distance hiking trail that was opened in 1977 and is named after the Bavarian King Ludwig II . The route begins in Berg am Starnberger See , where Ludwig II died in 1886, and ends in Füssen at the foot of the Alps . The length of the path is about 120 km.

After starting in Berg, the König-Ludwig-Weg leads via Starnberg to Herrsching am Ammersee . Alternatively, a boat trip to Pöcking is also possible, which shortens the hiking route a little. You can take the ship to Dießen at the southern end of the Ammersee. The route continues via Wessobrunn with its well-known monastery, Peiting , Rottenbuch , the Wieskirche and Trauchgau .

Via Hohenschwangau with the world-famous Neuschwanstein royal castle you finally reach the city of Füssen on the Lech .
