The Kübler Publishing is a book and audio book publishing. Since 2011 the company has been called "Kuebler Verlag GmbH".

history

It was founded in Mannheim in the early 1970s by the eponymous Bernd Kübler and other partners , and in 1978 the company moved to Lampertheim . After initially publishing non-fiction, from 1983 he switched to offer sheets . In 1983 the first offer sheet appeared as an advertising exchange for the Rhine-Neckar triangle under the brand “SperrMüll”. Company founder Bernd Kübler adapts the concept of the bid sheets, which are already very successful in Canada and the USA, for the German market. The company was first changed to “SperrMüll Zeitung GmbH”, then in 1999 to “Quoka Verlag GmbH” and then the legal form was changed to a stock corporation , the company was now calledQuoka AG”.

In 1988 the Munich offers sheet “Kurz und Fündig” was acquired, further company acquisitions, start-ups or participations were made in “The advertisement” in the Rhine-Main area, “Such & Find” in the new federal states, “Everything” in Franconia, “Pinboard “In Wuppertal and others. The market share in Germany was 50 percent, there were holdings or ownership in nine other countries (the Netherlands, Great Britain, Ireland, Finland, Switzerland, France, Portugal, Australia and South Africa). In 1996, the company received first place in the “Innovative Medium-Sized Enterprises” award for expanding abroad and simultaneously increasing the number of jobs in Germany.

The German Offertenblatt activities were sold to the Vorarlberger Medienhaus in 2005 . The company was changed to "Kübler Verlag AG" and in 2011 to "Kuebler Verlag GmbH". The company has had its headquarters in Lampertheim, Hesse, since the mid-1970s. It is involved in "Junk Mail Publishing" in South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria.

Publishing program

In the 1970s and 1980s, Kübler Verlag published works by the author Dieter Duhm (“ Fear in Capitalism ” and others), and in 1978 a first book was published about Greenpeace: Robert Hunter , Rex Weyler: “The journeys of Greenpeace”, ISBN 3- 921265-20-7 , 1982/83 the book edition of the radio play series Alfred Marquart, Herbert Borlinghaus: " Der Frauenarzt von Bischofsbrück ", ISBN 3-921265-34-7 . In the audiobook area , Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe novels are edited and the focus is on historical novels. As of 2011, the 12 volumes of the Flashman Papers (The Flashman Manuscript) by George MacDonald Fraser will be published as a book and as an audio book as well as the 20 volumes of the Aubrey Maturin series by Patrick O'Brian as an audio book. In 2013 the historical novels by Mika Waltari will follow in a new, complete translation, as well as marine-historical novels.
