Kühns Loch or Kühnes Loch is a lake-like extension of an old arm of the Elbe in the Elbe-Parey municipality near the town of Parey in Saxony-Anhalt .

Kühns Loch is a state waterway . It is a largely natural standing water, the origin of which goes back to amelioration and river shifts in earlier centuries. It contains species such as pond claw , coot , various types of ducks and geese , reed warbler , kingfisher , various amphibians and grass snakes . The area is described as a feeding habitat for sea eagles and ospreys . Protected biotopes can be found in the Kühns Loch / Herrenseegraben area. These are individual smaller reed areas , individual near-natural bank sections, individual hedges and field trees in the area.

Kühns Loch is a heavily eutrophicated , shallow backwater of the Pareyer connecting canal . There are oxygen deficiency situations in the summer months and high nutrient concentrations , which results in a species-poor aquatic community of eutrophic still waters .

The bank areas have been built on for a long time. There are weekend houses, jetties, paths and fishing spots. There is also a hotel complex adjacent.
