Kürschner's Folk Handbook
Kürschner's People's Handbook (commonly known as the Kürschner ) contains self-written short biographies of all members elected in the last federal election , graphics to illustrate the legislation and lists of the parties that stood for election . Election results and statistics on members of the Bundestag are also added. The furrier appears three months after the beginning of a legislative period and is then revised about every six months. The manual is provided by the Neue Darmstädter Verlagsanstalt and is available free of charge from the German Bundestag.

In addition to the MPs biographies, the furrier contains a description of the working methods of the German Bundestag , constituency and state results, the composition of the German Bundestag in figures, the previous election periods , changes in mandates , the composition of the Presidium , the Council of Elders , secretary, the composition of the parliamentary groups , the composition of the committees , further statistics , information on the Federal President , the Federal Government and the Commissioner for the Defense of the German Bundestag, as well as a list of the German members in the European Parliament .

history
The first Kürschner was published by Joseph Kürschner in 1890 for the eighth electoral term of the German Reichstag . The manual was striped in red and white, but was smaller (4.8 × 7.4 cm). From 1896 it appeared in the publishing house of Hermann Hillger , who was later also editor. The issue for the Reichstag election in March 1933 was followed by a break during the National Socialist period . The first post-war edition of the People's Handbook appeared in 1953.
Since 2014, Kürschner's people's handbook has also been available for some state parliaments, partly under a different label ( Kürschner's Politkontakte ).
