K2 culture in centrope

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

k2 kultur in centrope was an Austrian culture, program and event magazine that was founded in 2002 and initially only reported on the Austrian part of Centropes . It went back to an initiative of provincial governors Erwin Pröll (Lower Austria) and Michael Häupl (Vienna), which was initially intended to offer a common media platform for cultural life in Vienna and Lower Austria . The publisher was the non-profit association for the promotion of cultural cooperation between the federal states of Vienna and Lower Austria . In 2004 the two editors-in-chief Christian Bauer (Lower Austria) and Wolfgang Lamprecht (Vienna) took over their duties from the two founding editors-in-chief Thomas Gludowatz and Alfred Stalzer. Since 2008, the magazine has been responsible for the common European region of Centrope with the support of Raiffeisenbank Vienna-Lower Austria.

k2 culture in centrope made it possible to regularly preview productions by the most important cultural organizers in Vienna, Lower Austria, Burgenland and their neighboring countries Hungary , Slovakia and the Czech Republic , as far as they are defined by the term Centrope .

The magazine contained announcements, features and interviews as well as many photos and pictures, but no reviews or follow-up reports. A free editorial pool , which was recruited from the best cultural journalists and authors (including Franzobel , Georg Biron, Thomas Glavinic , Doris Knecht , Klaus Kamolz) in the country guaranteed the journalistic quality.

Since the magazine was only published four times a year and could not fully take into account the abundance of cultural offerings in Centrope in its print edition, current cultural events were dealt with in more detail on the Internet portal www.kzwei.at. Blogs , podcasts and community building contributed to a lively cultural mediation platform.

In summer 2013 the magazine k2 - Kultur in Centrope was discontinued. The former website has now been used for another purpose.
