history

Football department

The history of the club goes back to the year 1888, which is also anchored in the club name, when a gymnastics club was founded in Urberach under the name Turngemeinde Urberach . A singing department was founded out of the gymnastics community in 1907 and on March 12, 1919 the soccer department was founded as the Urberach game association through the merger of the Germania 1910 soccer club and the 1916 sports club. In the same year, the application for membership was submitted to the South German Soccer Association. The club was assigned to the C-class of the Gaues Dreieich and after only one year in the decider against the gymnastics community Sprendlingen, after a 2-1 victory, achieved promotion to the B-class. In 1921 the team became champions of class 13 in the Dreieich district, which resulted in promotion to the A class. In the following years Urberach reached the playoff against SV 05 Oberrad twice , but missed the success. In 1926, after disputes with the South German Football Association , the club changed to the Workers', Gymnastics and Sports Association. In 1927 the team won its first district championship in the first district of the 9th district. Two years later, the district championship followed, whereupon the team took part in the finals of the South German championship , in which they finished 4th.

With the Second World War and the previous dissolution of the association in 1933, sports activities in the village ceased. In the year of the end of the war in 1945, however, the local athletes reunited to form VfL Urberach , which was to serve as a major club for all types of sports. However, internal power struggles led to the dissolution after only two years. In 1949, today's cultural and sports club was founded, which again united singers, footballers and gymnasts.

As a member of the Hessian Football Association you were assigned to the A-Class and missed the title by just one point in the 1952 championship year. In the following year, the classes were reassigned, whereupon the team found itself in the district class. After the 1955/56 season, however, she was relegated to the A-Class. After a coach change and second place in the 1956/57 season, they secured the title of the class in the 1957/58 season. After eight playoffs against Gernsheim, Heppenheim, Arheiligen and Michelstadt, of which KSV won six, they were promoted to the 2nd amateur league. Shortly before the end of the 1958/59 season, relegation could be celebrated. A year later, the club celebrated the championship title and, after two wins in the promotion games, was promoted to the 1st amateur league in Hessen . With Victoria Urberach another football club was in direct competition with the KSV. After only a short time and many player changes, the club soon had to leave the league and found itself in the Darmstadt district class . In the meantime, the KSV even had to relegate to the A-class, but was able to return to the district class. After another difficult year, the 1975/76 season was followed by relegation to the A-class. In 1982 it even went into the B-Class. After only one season in this class, one year later the promotion to the A class was celebrated. Today the 1st team plays in the district league A of the Dieburg soccer district.

Spirit of Music

The group Spirit of Music , a Drum & Bugle Corps, joined KSV in 2006 as an independent department, after it was founded in 1985 as Stadtgarde Dietzenbach . After a victory and a second place at the European Cup in Belgium, an eighth place followed at the German Open in Hameln . Together with the Blue Diamonds Drum & Bugle Corps from Nienhagen , Spirit of Music performed at the Expo 2000 , in Spain , in Normandy , in Berlin and at many major events such as the Hessentag . Both groups produced the CD Roses of Latin America together before they separated again in 2002 and pursued their own projects again.

Other departments

As early as 1968, after the opening of the Urberach indoor pool, the club got its own swimming department. The badminton department was established in 1975 before gymnastics , judo and volleyball were also included in the club's program. Today, carnival , athletics , hiking as well as music and dance are part of club life. In 2013 the association celebrated its 125th anniversary, as the history is traced back to the original foundation in 1888, despite the fact that it was actually founded in 1949.
