education

basic education

The basic commercial training takes place in combination with the practical apprenticeship in the teaching company , the students attend the school as part-time training and work on the remaining days of the week in their teaching company. At the end of the apprenticeship the federal certificate of proficiency is obtained.

The basic education is divided into three different levels of difficulty, which differ in the number of hours per week, school subjects and subsequent further training opportunities. In the 2018/2019 school year, the students were distributed among the different profiles as follows: B-profile 615 learners, E-profile 2182 learners, M-profile 775 learners and 415 learners in basic education for adults.

Basic education (B-profile)

The basic training is aimed primarily at commercial tasks with a predominantly executive character. One focus is the information, communication and administration (IKA) department, which is dealt with in more detail than in the other profiles. In return, the linguistic subjects and economics & society are treated less and the degree is awarded in only one foreign language (French or English) at level B1 . Pupils with the B profile attend school two days a week during the first two years of their apprenticeship and one day a week in the last year of their apprenticeship.

Extended basic education (E-profile)

The extended basic education is more demanding than the B profile and differs mainly in that the students have about a third more lessons in business & society and the language subjects. In addition, both French and English are compulsory as a subject and degree subject.

Extended basic education with vocational school leaving certificate (M profile)

The extended basic training with vocational school leaving certificate is the most demanding commercial training. It combines the advanced basic education with the requirements of the commercial vocational baccalaureate . Students attend school two days a week for every three years. In addition to all subjects of the E-profile, the subjects Mathematics , History & Politics and Technology & Environment are taught. To complete the subjects French and English, recognized language diplomas must be acquired at level B2 . Admission to the M-profile requires passing an entrance exam and at the end of each semester a doctorate takes place; if the goals are not achieved, a graduation to the E-profile is possible.

Basic education for adults

Basic education also includes basic education for adults. In this way, they can take the final apprenticeship examination and thus obtain the federal certificate of proficiency as a businessman with an extended basic education . Furthermore, a commercial vocational diploma can be completed after completing an apprenticeship.
