Kadour Naimi ( Arabic قدور نعيمي, DMG Qaddūr Naʿīmī ; * November 4, 1945 in Sidi bel Abbès , Algeria ) is an Algerian- French - Italian film producer , screenwriter , playwright and actor .

life and career

Naimi, whose father was a shoemaker and his mother was a housewife, attended the University of Oran from 1965 to 1966 after graduating from high school, where he received a double certificate for general literary studies in French and Arabic. From 1966 to 1968 Naimi attended the École supérieure d'art dramatique de Strasbourg in Strasbourg , where he studied staging and dramaturgy. He then returned to Algeria and worked in various functions in the theater industry.

At the end of 1973 he emigrated to Belgium . From 1974 to 1979 he studied sociology at the Université catholique de Louvain . From 1979 to 1982 he received his doctorate in the sociology of the revolutions. From the 1980s onwards, Naimi became increasingly interested in cinema and the film industry. In 1982 he emigrated to Italy and obtained Italian citizenship. He had his first film role in the Oscar-nominated short film Senza parole from 1996. This was followed by a cast in an episode of the television series Don Matteo in 2001 on the side of Terence Hill . Between 1997 and 2014 Naimi was involved in six feature films or documentaries as a writer, director and producer.

Since October 2016 he has been working regularly on newspapers and sociological reviews, including the French-language newspaper Le Matin d'Algérie .

In September 2018 he founded Editions Electrons Libres , which offers free text or audio books in electronic form in French, Italian and Algerian. Naimi currently lives in China. In addition to French, he speaks English, Italian and Chinese.
