The Kagalnik ( Russian Кагальни́к ; in the upper reaches: Kagalnitschok (Кагальничёк)) is a tributary of the Azov Sea in the south of the Russian Rostov Oblast .

The river flows through the Kuban lowland in a westerly direction. He passes the small towns of Kagalnitskaya , Novobataisk and Samarskoye . Finally, he reached the south of Rostov-on-Don , the Bay of Taganrog . The right estuary of the Kagalnik unites with an estuary of the Don .

The Kagalnik has a length of 162 km. It drains an area of ​​5040 km². The river is mainly fed by the snowmelt . In summer the upper reaches of the Kagalnik dries up more often.
