Kai Schmidt-Eisenlohr (born October 4, 1978 in Heidelberg ) is a German politician ( Alliance 90 / The Greens ).

Schmidt-Eisenlohr graduated from high school in Wiesloch , studied business administration at the BA Mannheim with a semester abroad in Cambridge and completed the postgraduate course for a Master of Science in industrial engineering at the Mannheim University of Applied Sciences as well as an extra-occupational doctorate at the TU Darmstadt at the Chair of Information Systems. A longer trip through Central America and trips to Palestine and South America sparked his commitment to projects in developing countries. He works as an IT consultant and project manager in a medium-sized consulting company.

Schmidt-Eisenlohr was a founding member of the "Green Alternative Youth" in Wiesloch and founder of the "School Working Group" of the Green Youth Baden-Württemberg and then one of the first youth community councils in Wiesloch. In 1999 he became a councilor in Wiesloch for the first time. He was also a lay judge at the juvenile court in Heidelberg . From 2011 to 2016 he sat in the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg . He was the first green member of the state parliament for the Wiesloch state electoral district .

In 2014, Kai Schmidt-Eisenlohr was the first member of the state parliament in Germany to take parental leave .

In October 2015, Kai Schmit-Eisenlohr ran for the post of Lord Mayor of Wiesloch. He lost to Dirk Elkemann in this election.
