The Kaiser-Lothar-Linde is a summer linden tree planted in honor of the Kaiserdom in Königslutter on a meadow next to the church . It is estimated to be 900 years old, as it is said to have been planted in 1135 (the year the collegiate church began to be built). The tree is said to have been planted at an execution site in 1135, the year construction began on the cathedral . It is not known whether it is actually almost 900 years old. Today the tree no longer grows in height, but in width. The trunk is lined inside. The lowest branch off the trunk at a height of 1.5 m is supported against breaking off. Wire ropes also hold the tree together. It has been a natural monument since 1956; In 1975 a tree maintenance measure was carried out by a tree surgeon.

The linden tree is now on the grounds of the AWO Psychiatry Center .
