Empire of Haiti ( French Empire d'Haïti , Creole Anpi an Ayiti ) was the name of the Haitian state during its constitution as a monarchical state from 1849 to 1859.
history
On August 26, 1849, President Faustin Soulouque proclaimed the Haitian Empire as Faustin I. The constitution of the empire was published on September 17, 1849.
National territory
The area of today's Republic of Haiti belonged to the Empire, and from 1858 - the uninhabited island of Navassa .
