Kakavia
Kakavia ( Greek : Κακκαβιά ) is a dish from the Greek cuisine. It is a fish soup .
Word origin
Kakavia is derived from the word κακαβι (kakavi), which means a three-legged saucepan. In Greek, the term ψαρόσουπα (psarósoupa, fish soup) is also used .
Characteristic
Kakavia is made from various small fish, but also from mussels , prawns and other seafood . Originally, kakavia was made from fish that fishermen could no longer sell. The composition of the fish species can change depending on the catch.
