Kakushigoto ( Japanese か く し ご と ) is a manga series by Kōji Kumeta that appeared in Japan from 2015 to 2020. It falls into the comedy and drama genres and was implemented as an anime television series in 2020 . Internationally, the anime was also released as Kakushigoto: My Dad's Secret Ambition . The story is about a single father who hides his job as a manga artist from his daughter .
content
As a single father, Kakushi Gotō ( 後 藤 可 久 士 ) tries to ensure that his daughter Hime ( 姫 ) has a happy childhood. He tries to fulfill every wish for the daughter he loves so much and to replace the missing mother. Above all, however, he hides from her that he is a mangaka who draws erotic comedies. He plays for his daughter to go to the office in a suit every morning before changing into casual clothes on the way, without which he cannot work. Together with his four assistants and his editor Satsuki Tomaruin ( 十 丸 院 五月 ) Gotō lived the stressful but often entertaining everyday life of a mangaka who works for a large magazine. He always has to fend off new dangers to his secret and tries to strictly separate work and private life.
publication
The manga was published from December 2015 to July 2020 in Gekkan Shōnen Magazine . Its publisher Kōdansha brought out the chapters also collected in 12 anthologies. The second of these volumes sold more than 20,000 copies in the first week and thus reached number 47 in the Manga sales charts. The American offshoot of Kodansha published an English translation.
Anime series
In 2020 Studio Ajiado produced an adaptation of the manga as an anime series for Japanese television with 12 episodes. The script by Takashi Aoshima was implemented under the direction of Yūta Murano . The character design was created by Shūhei Yamamoto and the artistic direction was by Kohei Honda .
The series was shown in Japan from April 2 to June 18, 2020 on BS-NTV , AT-X , Tokyo MX and Sun Television . The anime was published internationally on the Wakanim platform with subtitles in many languages, including German and English. Funimation Entertainment licensed the series for streaming in North America and Brazil, and AnimeLab for Australia and New Zealand.

The music for the series was composed by Yukari Hashimoto . The opening credits are Chiisana Hibi ( ち い さ な 日 々 ) from flumpool and the end credits of the series are underlaid with the song Kimi wa Tennenshoku ( 君 は 天然 色 ) by Eiichi Ōtaki .
