Kalanchoe bracteata is a species of Kalanchoe plant in the Crassulaceae family.

Vegetative characteristics
Kalanchoe bracteata is a strongly branched small shrub that reaches heights of up to 150 centimeters and is densely covered with hair scales. The woody, densely branched shoots are indistinctly square when young. The stalked leaves are grayish silver-white to olive green. The fleshy, cylindrical, 5 to 20 millimeter long petiole is runny on top. The egg-shaped, elliptical to lanceolate leaf blade is 2 to 7 inches long and 1 to 4 inches wide. Its tip is pointed in a wedge shape and the base is rounded. The leaf margin is entire.
Generative characteristics
The inflorescence is a cyme . The upright, occasionally splayed flowers are on about 1 millimeter long flower stalks . Your calyx tube is very short or almost absent. Their triangular, sharply pointed calyx tips are 4 to 9 millimeters long. The urn-shaped petals are red and very fleshy. The four-edged corolla tube is 10 to 16 millimeters long. Their rounded corolla lobes have a length of about 2 millimeters and are 1 millimeter wide. The stamens are attached above the center of the corolla tube and do not protrude from the flower. The egg-shaped anthers are 1.5 to 2 millimeters long. The rectangular nectar flakes are about 1.5 millimeters long. The carpel has a length of 6 to 10 millimeters. The stylus is 2 to 2.5 millimeters long.
Systematics and distribution
Kalanchoe bracteata is widespread in the southeast of Madagascar in dry bush on different soil or rocks.
The first description by George Francis Scott-Elliot was published in 1891.
