Kaleidoscope is the debut album by US R&B singer Kelis .
Kelis' debut album was released in the US in 1999. However, Kaleidoscope was only able to sell 290,000 times. Only the single Caught out There was successful with 54th place on the Billboard charts.
In Europe, Kelis made his big breakthrough with the album produced by Neptunes . In England the singles Caught out There and Good Stuff reached the top 20 of the charts and the album gold status. In Germany, Kaleidoscope was released on January 24, 2000 and reached number 73 on the album charts.
Effects
Although the album in the United States flopped commercially, it represents a breakthrough for producers Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo . By her then novel mixture of R & B and hip-hop -elements it was for other artists such as Britney Spears and Nelly interesting .
