Kelis Was Here is the fourth studio album by Kelis . It was released worldwide on August 22, 2006 . The album reached number 10 on the Billboard charts in the first week , making it Keli's most successful record in the USA. In 2007 the album received a nomination for Best Contemporary R&B Album for the Grammy Awards .

With Kelis Was Here , Kelis Rogers turns away for the first time from The Neptunes , the producers of their three previous albums. Instead, she was able to win over producers like will.i.am , Scott Storch and Cool & Dre . The executive producer was Kelis.

Singles

The first single from the album was Bossy . The track, on which she is supported by Too Short , was released in the USA in May 2006. There he was able to stay in the charts for 12 weeks and reached number 16. This makes Bossy , after Milkshake from her predecessor Tasty , Keli's second most successful single. The song was released in Europe on September 4, 2006. In Germany, Bossy reached number 64 in the single charts.
