Polow da Don

Polow da Don (born 1978 in Atlanta , Georgia ; real Polow freak Jamal Fincher Jones ) is an American music producer and rapper . His mother is Japanese .

Life

After he had dropped out of his studies at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Polow da Don began his music career in the rap group Jim Crow , which got a record deal with Epic Records through his contact with producer Lil Jon in 1997 . In 1999 they released their first album Crow's Nest , after which Epic ended the collaboration. Polow was already working closely with the group's producers back then and began producing his own beats for the first time in 2001 . When the group lost their record deal again after another album in 2003, he finally devoted himself to his solo career.

In 2005 he celebrated the first major success as a producer of top-10 - Single Pimpin 'All Over the World by Ludacris . With London Bridge and Glamorous by Fergie and Love in This Club by Usher , three of the songs produced by Polow have so far reached the top of the Billboard charts . In Germany , London Bridge , Buttons from the Pussycat Dolls and Love in This Club made it into the top ten of the German single charts . Since 2007 he has also planned to release a solo album. In the same year he founded his own music label Zone 4 as a joint venture with Interscope Records and Def Jam , to which Keri Hilson (also with Mosley Music Group) and Rich Boy are under contract. In 2008 and 2009 Polow da Don received the BMI Pop Award as Songwriter of the Year .
