Kaliotoxin 1 (synonym Kaliumkanaltoxin alpha-KTx 3.5 ) is a toxin from the scorpion Androctonus australis .
properties
Kaliotoxin 1 is a protein and scorpion toxin from A. australis , as is potassium toxin 2 . It binds and inhibits voltage-gated potassium channels of the type Kv1.3 ( K d = 0.65 nM ), Kv1.6 . and Kv1.1 / KCNA1 (K d = 41 nM) and KCa1.1 / KCNMA1 ( Ki = 1560 nM), but not Kv1.2 / KCNA2 , Kv1.5 / KCNA5 and Kv3.1 / KCNC1 . Kaliotoxin 1 and 2 are structurally most closely related to Agitoxin 1 , Agitoxin 2, and Agitoxin 3 .
