An Early Cascade is a progressive rock / alternative rock band from Stuttgart .

history

An Early Cascade was founded in 2004. The band, initially moderately active, released their first EP called A Murderer's Day in 2006 with the line-up of Daniel Strohhäcker, Maik Czymara, Martin Wehl, Maximilian Storer and Michael Schab, without a music label . Two years later (2008) the second EP Your Hammer to My Enemy followed , now for the first time on the German independent label Midsummer Records .

After two tours and several line-up changes, the band decided in 2009/2010 to invest more time in a new phase of discovery and new songwriting. To date, An Early Cascade has mainly been associated with the metalcore genre , which changed in 2011 with the release of their debut album Versus , also on Midsummer Records . Versus increasingly received very positive feedback as an internationally sounding composition with comparisons to bands such as Circa Survive , Muse (band) , The Fall of Troy , The Dillinger Escape Plan or Dredg . Last but not least, said album was formative for the musical development from An Early Cascade to Progressive Rock .

The group's boom was overshadowed by the death of drummer Daniel Wied (1986–2012). On August 21, 2012 the band announced that a breakup was out of the question and released their first video for Everything Is Wrong a year after the appearance of Versus . Everything is OK. Heisskalt drummer Marius Bornmann supported the band for a short time at upcoming concerts and rehearsals.

In 2014, An Early Cascade announced two tours with Heisskalt in spring and with Emil Bulls in autumn. For the autumn tour, the band had a CD version of their new EP Kairos , limited to 300 copies , which was only sold at the live concerts. In the winter of 2015 Kairos was officially released on 12 "vinyl, for download / stream and in a pre-order deluxe edition via Fleet Union . In the same year the band released two music videos for the titles Passengers of Today and Gold . Since 2015, An Early has been playing Cascade in the current line-up with Maik Czymara (vocals), the two guitarists Michael Schab and Arne Häussermann as well as bassist Jan Schuttack and drummer Andreas Maier.

The second album Alteration was released in 2017 on Kick The Flame / Midsummer Records including two single releases for the songs Living in Exile and Blue-Eyed . In keeping with the new release, the group toured again with the bandmates von Heisskalt in March / April and then on their own album release tour via Sparta Booking in May and June.

On August 24, 2018, An Early Cascade announced that Jan Schuttack and Andreas Maier had left the band. Details of the replacement are not yet known. A short time later, the band released a new music video for the song Desolate on YouTube .

In 2020 the band started with a new line-up consisting of Tobias Sippel on bass and Jan Müller on drums. A new single called Echoes was also released on February 7th of that year . At the same time, the band released a music video for the song on YouTube .
