Stuttgart camera office

The Stuttgart Camera Office was an institution of the Kingdom of Württemberg that administered state property and income in the district. It existed in Stuttgart from 1806 to 1922 . The camera office was created as part of the reorganization of the state finance administration in the Kingdom of Württemberg.

While there was only one city camera office in Stuttgart from 1806 to 1843, the Weil im Schönbuch camera office was relocated to Stuttgart as a special land camera office in 1843 . Finally, in 1860, the two camera offices were merged into one Stuttgart camera office.

According to an order of May 6, 1837, the Stuttgart camera office took over the town of Botnang from the Leonberg camera office.

By ordinance of March 6, 1843, the Weil im Schönbuch camera office was relocated to Stuttgart as a land camera office. At the same time, the Stuttgart City Camera Office took over the Hohenheim Revier belonging to the Leonberg Forestry Office from the Cannstatt Camera Office. The Landkameralamt Stuttgart, however, has taken over:

  • from the camera office in Eßlingen the communities Bernhausen, Birkach, Harthausen, Heumaden, Kemnat, Obersielmingen, Ruit and Untersielmingen,
  • from the Stuttgart City Camera Office the communities Botnang, Degerloch, Feuerbach and Gaisburg,
  • from the Sindelfingen camera office the communities of Kaltental, Möhringen, Rohr and Vaihingen.

The unification of the Stuttgart City and Land Camera Office took place in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Finance on March 26, 1860. At the same time, the camera office was entrusted with accounting for the forest and hunting slopes of the Neuenhaus and Waldenbuch districts.
