Cable car camera

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A cable car camera is a photo or film camera that is controlled from two connection points of different heights with the operating mode of a cable car over a certain route . A cameraman can travel on a cable car camera . In the mountains, the counterpart, a camera cable car , can be on the outside of a real gondola lift , which the cameraman controls inside the gondola.

It differs from a Skycam controlled by one man as well as from a cable camera operated by a person in a multi-man operation .

Application area

A cable car camera , spidercam or camera cable car enables spectacular camera movements over long distances, at great heights, in impassable terrain and still allows you to stay close to the object. It is therefore used where remote-controlled model helicopters , camera cranes or dolly reach their limits. Popular areas of application are feature films and open air events , ski sports broadcasts, etc.
