Kamil Kosowski [ ˈkamʲil kɔˈsɔfsci ] (born August 30, 1977 in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski , Poland ) is a former Polish football player .
Career
The offensive midfielder Kosowski, who mostly plays on the left side of midfield as a two-footed player, began his career in Poland with Górnik Zabrze and moved to the Polish series champion Wisła Krakau in 2000 , where he matured into one of the best players in Poland under coach Henryk Kasperczak .
Impressive performances in the UEFA Cup against teams like FC Schalke 04 showed that it was only a matter of time before foreign clubs would notice Krakow's lanky 1.86 m midfield engine. In 2003 he switched to the Bundesliga for 1. FC Kaiserslautern on loan . Here he played much more inconspicuously than in Poland and in the 2005/06 season was loaned out to the second English division at Southampton FC , where his former colleague from the Polish national soccer team Tomasz Hajto was also under contract. In the 2006/07 season he was loaned to Chievo Verona in Italy . From summer 2007 he played again for half a year with Wisła Krakow. In January 2008 he joined the Spanish second division club FC Cádiz . For the 2008/2009 season Kosowski moved to Cyprus to APOEL Nicosia . Two seasons later, he moved to Apollon Limassol within Cyprus . After the past season Kosowski decided to return to Poland and signed a contract with GKS Bełchatów . At the end of October 2012 he was suspended there and prematurely terminated his contract in January 2013. The next day, league rival Wisła Krakau announced the signing of Kosowski. After the end of the season he ended his career.
Between 2001 and 2009, Kosowski made 52 international matches for the Polish national soccer team, in which he scored four goals. In 2006 he took part in the World Cup in Germany .
