Kamil Skaskiewicz

Kamil Skaskiewicz (born July 10, 1988 in Bialogard ) is a Polish wrestler . In 2013 he was runner-up in the European free style light heavyweight division .

Career

Kamil Skaskiewicz started wrestling as a teenager in 1998, focusing on the free style. His home club is AKS Bialogard . He was or is trained by Andreas Szwenk, Cesary Yastreb and Marek Garmulewicz . He is a student and a wrestler. Since 2009 he has been wrestling in the German Bundesliga ( RV Thalheim , TSV Musberg and SV Luftfahrt Berlin ).

From 2003 to 2008 he started at a total of five junior European and world championships, but could not win any medals. His best place was a 4th place at the Junior European Championship (Cadets) 2003 in Skopje in the weight class up to 42 kg.

In 2008 he won his first medal at the Polish Senior Middleweight Championship with 3rd place. In 2009 he became Polish runner-up in the same weight class. In 2010 he was the first Polish heavyweight champion , in which he started for tactical reasons. In 2011 and 2012 he was finally Polish light heavyweight champion.

His first participation in an international championship in the senior sector was in 2011. He started at the European championship in Dortmund in the light heavyweight division. After beating Imants Lagodskis from Latvia, he lost his next fight against Pavlo Oleinik from Ukraine. Since this did not reach the final, he was eliminated and ended up in 11th place. In 2012 he took part in the Olympic qualification tournament in Sofia, where he could not qualify for the Olympic Games in London with a 5th place.

In March 2013, Kamil Skaskiewicz succeeded in winning the first medal at an international championship at the European Light Heavyweight Championships in Tbilisi. There he defeated Imants Lagodskis, Michail Tsikovani, Greece and Wladislaw Baizajew , Russia, before he had to bow again to Pavlo Oleinik in the final battle. He became vice European champion.
