Kamilo Gata

Kamilo Gata (born December 12, 1949 on Futuna in the French overseas territory of Wallis and Futuna , † November 16, 2004 in the county of Crows Nest , Australia ) was a French politician. From 1989 to 1997 he was a member of the National Assembly .

Gata, studied in Lyon jurisprudence . From 1978 he headed the administration of the Pacific overseas territory of Wallis and Futuna. He held this position until 1989 when he was elected to the French National Assembly, where he represented Wallis and Futuna from then on. There he joined the faction of the Parti socialiste and was re-elected in 1993. In 1997 he was inherited by Victor Brial . In the 2002 presidential election , he led Lionel Jospin's campaign in Wallis and Futuna. In 2004 he died in Australia after a long illness.
