David Vergé

David Vergé (born January 10, 1972 in La Fère ) is a French politician . He was a member of the National Assembly from 2012 to 2013 and has been President of the Territorial Assembly of Wallis and Futuna since 2017 .

Vergé ran in the parliamentary elections in 2012 as Divers droite in the French overseas territory of Wallis and Futuna . With 28.8 percent of the vote, he reached the second round of the election together with two left-wing candidates. In this he was able to prevail with 41.6% and a narrow lead over the runner-up Left Kulimoetoke (41.0%) and the previous MP Albert Likuvalu (17.4%). In parliament he was mainly involved in matters relating to overseas territories. By decision of the Conseil constitutionnelhis mandate was withdrawn in January 2013.
