Residential building in the Kammgarn district

The worsted yarn quarter was a factory settlement of the Augsburg worsted yarn spinning mill . Built in 1875 and 1876, it served the employed workers as living quarters in the immediate vicinity of their workplace. Initially referred to as the "New Living Quarter", the settlement was named "Kammgarnquartier" in 1879. After numerous expansions, the settlement finally had 44 houses and 355 apartments in 1936.

With the decline of the Augsburg worsted spinning mill in the 1970s, the worsted yarn district also changed. With the exception of a few houses, all buildings were demolished in the 1980s and replaced by new buildings without any reference to the textile factory.
