Kamratmästerskapen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Kamratmästerskapen was a Swedish football competition held by the Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna (IFK) .

history

The first edition of the Kamratmästerskapen took place in 1901. With the exception of 1923, the competition was held annually until 1924. In 1940 it was revived and played out until 1942. After the championship began in 1945, but was not played to the end, the competition was finally stopped again. Only teams from the members of the Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna were allowed to take part in the competition.

After IFK Stockholm dominated the competition in the first decade , IFK Göteborg succeeded in winning the title eleven times at 25 championships. This makes the club the undisputed record winner.
