The channel push boat type 300 (KSS 24) , also briefly KSS 24 called, is a push boat type of the GDR - inland navigation and was from 1982 to 1986 on the Yachtwerft Berlin built in Berlin-Koepenick.

history

Push ship SE 10 , ex push 2410 with raised wheelhouse.

In the early 1980s, the German inland shipping company in the GDR commissioned the development of a canal pusher ship. A robust, stationary, single-screw drive system was to be provided. The wheelhouse should have an operator's eye height of at least six meters via a lifting arm. The building contract was awarded to the yacht yard in Berlin. The first ship was laid down in the summer of 1982 . The launch of the first ship took place on December 13, 1982 under the company's preliminary internal registration number Schub 2400. It was put into service on March 21, 1983. When the company was privatized after 1990, some ships were sold or flagged out. The majority of the ships are now sailing under the Polish flag.

Design and construction

The hull is made in the shape of a pontoon and divided into four watertight compartments by three bulkheads , the aft peak , the heating, hydraulic and storage space, the engine room and the forepeak . The superstructures are put on like containers. A total of 34 ships of the 300 series were launched. The ships are 16.50 meters long, 8.15 meters wide and have an average draft of 1.57 meters. The side height is 2.50 meters and the total height is 3.95 meters. The main engine was the type 6 VD 36/24-IU with 221 kW (300 PS) from the SKL company in Magdeburg. In the meantime, however, some main engines and auxiliary machines have been replaced by other makes. The push boats reach a cruising speed of 10.8 to 12 km / h in the push convoy. According to the shipyard approval, they have the DSRK class: KM V / EDE 3 push boat "Ice". The ships were originally intended for pushing shipping with two large subframes each 65.00 meters in length to a maximum draft of 2.10 meters or with four normal subframes each 32.50 meters in length on canals and lakes with little flow and are also used on waters close to the coast. They correspond to the regulations for pushing tankers K 3. After commissioning, the ships belonged to the VEB Binnenreederei Berlin in the GDR and had the registration number SCH 24XX. The series was manufactured according to the modular system and equipped with exchangeable, container-like apartments and sanitary rooms for the crew .
