Kim Young-woon

Kangin (* 17th January 1985 in Seoul as Kim Young-woon ) is a South Korean singer and actor . He was a member of the boy group Super Junior , as well as in their subgroups Super Junior-T and Super Junior-H .

Life

Kangin was supposed to debut in the boy band Four Seasons. The band was dissolved before their debut and he and his later bandmate Heechul were brought to the band Super Junior.

In November 2005 he made his debut after four years of preparation as one of twelve members in the boy band Super Junior. In 2007 Kangin became a member of the subgroup Super Junior-T , which dealt with the music genre Trot . In 2008 Kangin became a member of the Super Junior-H subgroup , which was disbanded a year later due to a lack of success. Furthermore, Kangin made his debut as a musical singer in 2008, together with his teammate Heechul in the musical Xanadu, which was performed in Seoul until November 2008.

In addition to his singing career, Kangin has been promoting his television career since 2006 and has appeared in various productions as an actor or presenter.

From 2006 to 2007, Kangin owned his own radio show called Reckless Radio . In 2007 he switched to Good Friend Radio , where he was a presenter until 2009.

On July 5, 2010, Kangin was drafted into the South Korean army service and thus had to forcibly pause his activities at Super Junior. After 21 months of service in the army, Kangin was released on April 16, 2012.

In July 2012, Kangin started his super junior comeback and has been a member of the boy band again since then. Kangin was also able to prove himself again as a presenter or actor in various productions on television.

In September 2009, there was a fight in a bar in which Kangin was involved.

A month later in October 2009, Kangin was involved in a drinking and driving accident and was hit and missed. Five hours later, Kangin turned himself in to the police. Due to the misconduct, SM Entertainment announced that Kangin will no longer be seen in public until the end of the year. In January 2010, Kangin was required to pay 8 million won as the cause of the accident.

In May 2016, Kangin had another traffic accident under the influence of alcohol and hit the road. According to SM Entertainment, Kangin has discontinued its Super Junior and television production activities.
