Kanimang Sanneh

Alhaji Kanimang Sanneh is a politician in the West African state of Gambia .

In the 1997 parliamentary elections , Sanneh stood as a candidate for the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC) in the Jimara constituency and was able to win the constituency successfully. In the regional elections in 2002 Sanneh was successfully elected and became chairman of the Basse Area Council . He held this position until 2007, when he was replaced by Omar Sompo Ceesay in the 2008 regional elections .

There was confusion in April 2011, after a report, Omar Khan , the governor of the Upper River Region , was replaced by Sanneh on April 28, 2011. The next day, the reinstatement of Khan as governor was announced. In September 2013, Omar Khan was replaced by Sanneh. He led the office as deputy governor, on November 28, 2013 Omar Sompo Ceesay was the new governor of the Upper River Region.
