Canoe routes, status 2006

The Cycling in Switzerland is a network of trails for canoeists and kayakers on Swiss lakes and rivers, which is part of the network SwitzerlandMobility is. It is the youngest sub-project and is still under construction. The signposting of all routes is standardized, a canoeist is shown next to the number on blue signposts.

Inexperienced canoeists can join guided tours on all routes whose providers are safety-certified.

National route

So far there is a multi-stage, national route, recognizable by the single-digit number:

  1. Aare canoe : Biel - Büren an der Aare - Solothurn - Aarwangen - Olten - Aarau - Brugg - Koblenz (120 km)

Regional routes

There are also seven regional routes with two-digit numbers that are suitable for day trips. They are located on the Ticino , Thur and Aare rivers between Thun and Bern, the Rhine between Stein am Rhein and Schaffhausen and Reuss, as well as on Lake Biel and Lake Constance . In spring 2010 a route on Lake Lucerne is to be added to the directory of regional routes.

Other routes concern rafting on whitewater sections of the Inn , Vorderrhein , Simme , Reuss , Rotten and Doubs rivers .
