Pulpit (Rockeskyll)
The pulpit in the Catholic parish church of St. Bartholomäus in Rockeskyll , a local community in the Vulkaneifel district in Rhineland-Palatinate , was created in the 18th century. The wooden pulpit stands on a winding pillar .
Ernst Wackenroder wrote in 1928:
“The wooden pulpit [...] shows narrow, divided fields between volute bridges , with half-figure reliefs of the Evangelists between the image of Christ in the middle. In the lower filling fields their symbols and a relief of the Immaculate . The rhombic fields of the pulpit staircase with light, simple rococo work , which is also attached to the pulpit itself next to the angel heads used as consoles. "
