Creation and artwork
For me , Celine herself - under her real name "Céline Dorka" - together with co-authors Robin Haefs , Moritz Pirker ( Nvie Motho ), Jan Platt, Yanek Stark and the producer quartet Beatgees (consisting of: Philip Böllhoff, Hannes Büscher, Sipho Sililo and David Vogt ). The production was carried out by the Berlin production team Beatgees and the Vienna- based Motho. The mastering took place under the direction of the Berlin sound engineer Lex Barkey .
On the orange-red front cover of the single you can see - next to the artist name and song title - Celine. It only shows her upper body from chest height as she looks straight ahead with bowed head, over sunglasses , at the viewer. In addition to sunglasses, she wears an earing on her right ear and an oversized white shirt. The photography comes from the work on the accompanying music video.
Publication and promotion
Für mich was first published as a download and streaming on March 13, 2020. It was published as a single track by the music labels A Million, BTGS and Groove Attack . The song was published by Beatgees Publishing, BMG Rights Management , Budde Music Publishing, Djorkaeff Beatzarre Edition, Fisherman Songs, Invest in Stars Edition and Tricot Edition. In terms of content, the piece is about an unfaithful partner and the resulting separation.
To promote the song, Celine first uploaded a video on her social media on February 19, 2020 with For me to be heard in the background . She also posted the video with the words "For me". The song is built on two verses, a chorus and an outro . The song begins with a short intro that only consists of a "La-la". After a short pause, Celine starts with the first verse. The first stanza is followed by a so-called four-line “ pre-chorus ” before the actual refrain takes place. The same process is repeated with the second stanza. On the other hand, she sits dressed in a waterless bathtub during one scene. In the third scene, Celine is in the halls of the Gorki Theater. For me, reached in Germany to position 70 of the singles chart and was able to hold a total of five weeks in the top 100th Furthermore, the single was able to place itself in the German iTunes daily evaluations for several days and reached its highest chart listing on March 13, 2020 with position 75.
For Celine as an author and interpreter, Für mich is the first chart success in the German single charts. The Beatgees reached the charts in Germany for the 24th time in their writing or producing activities. For Haefs, this is the eleventh author's contribution to make it into the German single charts. For Platt, Tears from Kajal is the second author's contribution to the German single charts after Deja Vu ( Mike Singer ). This was the first time that Pirker and Starke reached the music charts as authors.
