Pulpit in Bergheim

The pulpit in the Catholic Church Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption in Bergheim , a French parish in the Haut-Rhin department in the Grand Est region , was created around 1800. The wooden pulpit was added to the list of listed buildings ( Base Palissy ) in France in 1998 as Monument historique .

The pulpit in the nave can be reached via a curved staircase on a pillar . Gilded figures of the evangelists are attached to the pulpit ; at the bottom it is closed off by a gilded pine cone.

On the back wall is depicted John the Baptist announcing the arrival of the Messiah to the people . The sound cover is crowned by the tablets of the law and a cross.
