Kanzemer Altenberg

The Kanzemer Altenberg is a vineyard of the local church Kanzem in the growing region Mosel , area Saar .

Geology and location

The 18.7 hectares large steep location is opposite the City Kanzem on the right bank of the Saar south-southeast orientation. The soil consists of slate , in the lower part of the slope there are clayey, reddish parts of the soil, in the upper part of the slope loamy. The geographical proximity to the Saar ensures temperature compensation and light amplification.

The site is exclusively planted with Riesling . The Kanzemer Altenberg is a first location of the VDP and approved for large plants of the Bernkasteler Ring .
