Kaoru Mitoma ( Japanese 三 笘 薫 , Mitoma Kaoru ; born May 20, 1997 in Kawasaki , Kanagawa Prefecture ) is a Japanese football player .

Career

Kaoru Mitoma learned to play football in the youth team of Kawasaki Frontale and in the university team of the University of Tsukuba . It was loaned by the University of Tsukuba from August 2018 to January 2019 and from April 2019 to January 2020. After the loan ended, he was signed by Kawasaki Frontale in early 2020. The club from Kawasaki , a city on the Japanese main island of Honshu in the northeast of Kanagawa Prefecture , played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . He made his debut in the first division on matchday 1, on February 22, 2020, in the home game against Sagan Tosu . At 0-0, he came on in the 65th minute for Akihiro Ienaga .

In 2018 he played three times in the U21 national team . From 2017 to 2019 he wore the U23 jersey four times .
