The ring wall Dürrling , also called Wallburg Umelsdorf , is located in the Umelsdorf district of the Upper Palatinate market Kastl in the Amberg-Sulzbach district of Bavaria . The ring wall is located 800 m north of Umelsdorf on the Dürrling .

description

The eastern part of the ridge-like summit of the Dürrling is surrounded by a stone wall, which is only preserved as a narrow terrace in the south. The total length of the system is approx. 75 m, the largest width 60. In the west the ridge drops off somewhat and the ridge becomes wider and flatter, here a small transverse wall with the suggestion of a ditch can be seen. Its two ends bend inwards towards the mountain peak, but there is no visible connection with the stone wall or the corresponding terraces. A second wall with a height of 0.5 m with a barely visible ditch runs to the west. At the southern edge it leans against the rocky ridge and turns into a small bastion . Its north end bends clearly and runs flattened in an arc downwards; maybe there was a gate here.
