description

The section fortification ( Höhenburg ) lies on a north-east jutting into a dry valley 525  m above sea level. NN high mountain tongue. It is cordoned off from the adjoining plateau by a straight section wall, which stretches from the steeply sloping western to the eastern slope edge and was preceded by a ditch. This moat is heavily flattened, measures only half a meter from the bottom of the trench to the ridge and is still two meters wide. It is unclear where the earlier access to the facility was, the wall is broken in the middle by a hiking trail that leads to the lookout point on the Kalmusfelsen.

The flat area separated in this way is 75 meters long and slopes steeply to the west and east; to the north it is bounded by several meters of vertically sloping rock walls.

The ground monument recorded by the Bavarian State Office for the Preservation of Monuments as a “section fortification of prehistoric times” has the monument number D-3-6536-0042.
