Burgstall Hausberg

The Burgstall Hausberg refers to an abandoned hill fort in the Lauterach district of the Upper Palatinate market Kastl in the Amberg-Sulzbach district of Bavaria . The facility is located 2050 m east-southeast of Kastl and 150 m northwest of Lauterbach in the Rötelberg corridor. The property is managed by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation under monument number D-3-6636-0033 as a "Mesolithic open-air station".

description

On the northern bank of the Lauterach there is a mountain spur that ends in steep rock faces. This is separated from the plateau by a section wall. The rampart, including the sloping ends, is only 17 m long and its average height is 2 m. In view of these circumstances, the facility could be described as a section fortification rather than a castle stables .
