The Rupprechtstein castle ruins are the ruins of a hilltop castle at 550  m above sea level. NHN high mountain tongue near Rupprechtstein , a district of the Etzelwang municipality in the Amberg-Sulzbach district in Bavaria .

The castle was built around the 13th century. The Lords of Rupprechtstein were first mentioned in 1243 in a document relating to Engelthal Abbey. From the 14th century to 1601 the castle was the seat of the Freudenberg family . In 1776 renovations and extensions took place. In the first half of the 19th century the castle was considered to be derelict. In 1903 Johann Georg Pickel acquired the estate and converted the utility building into an inn.

Remains of the keep (tower stump), cellar vaults and a deep draw well are still preserved from the former castle complex with outer and main castle . The fortified tower and castle stables of Trutziger Kaiser were once located about 100 meters southeast of the castle .
