origin

The von Freudenberg family comes from the eponymous place Freudenberg , today a municipality in the Upper Palatinate district of Amberg-Sulzbach . From 1250 to 1594, the Freudenberg nobles were free from the empire and sold by the last Freudenberger, Hans II. To the Palatinate princes in Amberg .

Rupprechtstein Castle

In 1343 Ulrich von Freudenberg is recorded at Rupprechtstein Castle near Etzelwang . The community, today in the district of Amberg-Sulzbach , was called Neidstein until 1983.
