Neukirchen bei Sulzbach-Rosenberg (officially: Neukirchen b.Sulzbach-Rosenberg ) is a municipality in the Upper Palatinate district of Amberg-Sulzbach and the seat of the administrative association of the same name . It is located about ten kilometers west of Sulzbach-Rosenberg and 45 km east of Nuremberg .

history
Until the church is planted
After finding barrows , the settlement of Neukirchen is dated to 500 BC. Dated. The village itself was probably founded between 900 and 1100 during clearing in the Middle Ages. During the Thirty Years' War Neukirchen was plundered by the Swedes in 1633 , and eight years later by Bavarian troops. Neukirchen bei Sulzbach-Rosenberg belonged to the Duchy of Neuburg-Sulzbach and its court Sulzbach. In 1777 the place fell to Bavaria .
In the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria , today's municipality was created with the municipal edict of 1818 .
20th century
Until around 1920, the town's train station was an important transshipment point for the dye ocher , which was mined in the surrounding area, including in Ermhof , from paint graves at depths of three to ten meters.
Incorporations
On January 1, 1972, the previously independent municipality of Mittelreinbach and parts of the area of the dissolved municipality of Trondorf were incorporated. On July 1, 1974, parts of the neighboring community Neidstein with about 100 inhabitants were added. Parts of the dissolved municipality Bachetsfeld followed on July 1, 1976. The series of incorporations was completed on January 1, 1978 with the incorporation of the municipality Holnstein and parts of the dissolved municipality Röckenricht.
Residents
Between 1988 and 2018, the population fell from 2,655 to 2,483 by 172 inhabitants or 6.5%. On December 31, 2000 Neukirchen b. S.-R. 2,895 inhabitants.

There are two churches in the village, the Catholic and the Protestant St. Peter and Paul Church. Neukirchen is one of the nine parishes in the north-east of the Upper Palatinate, where the majority of the population is Protestant.

- Coat of arms history: The coat of arms division and the tinging in silver and red is derived from the coat of arms of the Freudenbergers , who as lords of Rupprechtstein Castle played an important role in the history of the municipality since the Middle Ages and held the right of collage to the parish until the 19th century . The growing eagle comes from the coat of arms of the Truchsessen von Holnstein, who owned the Hofmark Holnstein . The bar with the bar is reminiscent of the Rupprechtsteiners, who named themselves after their ancestral home. The lilies stand for the Baumgartner and Barons von Stromer, two families who ruled Holnstein in the 18th century.

Architectural monuments
In 2017 one of the oldest farmhouses in the northern Upper Palatinate in Obermainshof (Obermainshof 1, file number: D-3-71-141-22) was demolished despite its status as a monument.

Transport and infrastructure
The station Neukirchen (in Sulzbach-Rosenberg) was approved by the Bavarian Eastern Railway on the route of Regensburg about Schwandorf to Nuremberg built 1859th The single-track line to Weiden idOPf has been branching here since 1875 . from.
