history

As a result of the administrative reforms carried out in the Kingdom of Bavaria at the beginning of the 19th century , the then wasteland of Rupprechtstein became part of the independent rural community Etzelwang with the second municipal edict in 1818 , which also includes the villages of Bürtel , Gerhardsberg , Hauseck , Lehendorf , Lehenhammer , Neutras , Penzenhof , Schmidtstadt and brickworks belonged. Only a little later, however, the community Etzelwang was dissolved again in 1820/21 and from this (with the exception of Etzelwang and Ziegelhütten) the new rural community Schmidtstadt was formed, which, however, had its community seat in Lehendorf. In the first half of the 20th century, Rupprechtstein was also spun off from this commune and changed to the rural community of Kirchenreinbach . In the course of the municipal territorial reform carried out in Bavaria in the 1970s , Rupprechtstein was incorporated together with Kirchenreinbach in 1978 into the municipality of Neidstein, which was renamed in 1983 to reflect the largest district in the municipality of Etzelwang. In 2017 Rupprechtstein had ten residents.

traffic

The connection to the public road network is made by a communal road that leads from the eastern outskirts of Etzelwang in a north-northeast direction to Kirchenreinbach. About halfway down this road a spur road branches off to the west and ends after about 200 meters in Rupprechtstein.

Attractions

The former patrimonial court

In Rupprechtstein there are two architectural monuments, namely the Rupprechtstein castle ruins and a former patrimonial court, which is the economic building of the former castle. This building complex housed a restaurant for several decades, but the restaurant business has since been discontinued.
