Lehendorf is a Bavarian village in the eastern part of the Hersbrucker Alb .

The village is one of 14 districts of the Etzelwang municipality in the western part of the Upper Palatinate . It is located about one kilometer west-southwest of the center of Etzelwang and is at an altitude of 410  m above sea level. NHN .

history

The territory of the Principality of Sulzbach and the Landgraviate of Leuchtenberg

At the end of the Holy Roman Empire , Lehendorf formed part of the Sulzbach district judge , which belonged to the Duchy of Sulzbach in Wittelsbach . By the early 19th century in the Kingdom of Bavaria carried out administrative reforms Penzenhof was the second Gemeindeedikt 1818 part of the independent rural community Etzelwang, which also includes the towns Bürtel , Gerhard Berg , Hauseck , fiefdom Hammer , Neutra , Penzenhof , Schmidt city and brick huts belonged. Only a little later, however, the Etzelwang community was dissolved again in 1820/21 and the new Schmidtstadt rural community was formed from it (with the exception of the two districts Etzelwang and Ziegelhütten). This did not have its parish seat in the eponymous place, but in Lehendorf. In the course of the communal territorial reform in Bavaria carried out in the 1970s , the municipality of Schmidtstadt (with the exception of Bürtel) was incorporated into the municipality of Neidstein in 1978 , which was renamed the municipality of Etzelwang in 1983 according to the largest district. In 2017 Lehendorf had 153 inhabitants.

The connection to the public road network is established by the district road AS 38 , which comes from the west-south-west of Lehenhammer and runs through the town and continues in a north-easterly direction to Penzenhof.

There are three listed buildings in Lehendorf, including a single-storey quarry stone building from the first half of the 19th century with a gable roof and half-timbered gable.
