The Schergenbuck with Neidstein Castle is a nature reserve in Etzelwang in the Upper Palatinate district of Amberg-Sulzbach in Bavaria .
The nature reserve is located 1.5 kilometers northwest of Neukirchen . It is located in the Franconian Switzerland-Veldenstein Forest Nature Park and is part of the LSG landscape protection area within the Franconian Switzerland Nature Park - Veldenstein Forest (formerly a protection zone).
The approximately 18-hectare area with Neidstein Castle is a high ridge that is significant in terms of national culture. The Schergenbuck has a species-rich deciduous forest with natural occurrences of the yew, which has largely been exterminated because of its toxicity .
The area was placed under nature protection on July 16, 1973.
