Festenberg Castle Stables

The Outbound Burgfest mountain was above the local part Stauber hammer the city Auerbach in the Upper Palatinate in Amberg-Sulzbach of Bavaria . The object is listed in the BayernAtlas as a ground monument with the file number D-3-6235-0005 and referred to as the "medieval castle stables".

history

The hilltop castle on the Festenberg was probably built in the 12th century. In 1402 the Hammer Ziegelmühl located below (called Staubershammer from the 16th century) was sold by the Michelfeld Monastery to the Nuremberg citizen Elsa Streberin zu Strebenstein; her husband Hans Streber had received Steinamwasser as a fief. In 1416 Count Palatine Johann the Lamprecht Groß allowed " to build and improve the dwelling (the castle ) " above his hammer Ziegelmühl . The Count Palatine waived his rights to the hammer in favor of the right to open the Festenberg Castle. In 1438 Lamprecht Groß sold the hammer, including the housing and sheet metal hammer, to Michelfeld Monastery. In 1445 Albrecht Zerreyßen received the hammer for lease in addition to the castle above the hammer. In the 15th century, the castle was probably destroyed in the Hussite Wars . Probably the manor house of the Staubershammer, which is still well preserved today, was built at that time.

Construction

The castle rock is located on a plateau above Staubershammer. Of the former Tower Castle are only a few foundations, but very significant Wall- and grave sites receive.
