Karl Breuning pays hereditary homage in 1580 . Hans Furtenbach gave him the country estate as a pledge. In 1585 the estate was sold to Hans Christoph Modschidler. In 1809 a patrimonial court was established in Boden and Steinling , owned by Wilhelm Freiherr von Steinling. The Hofmark remained with this family until the beginning of the 19th century.

In 1820/21 Boden is designated as a district court municipality. In 1830, Boden was incorporated into Sigras and on January 1, 1972, Sigras was incorporated into Edelsfeld.
